Medan Tuan Padang

Medan Tuan Padang is one of the landmarks which visitors to Kota Bharu will have to pass along. The landmark is identified by the clock tower surrounded by mini gardens. It has undergone a number of transformation from a very simple garden to something which it is today, a symbol of Kota Bharu as an Islamic city.

Pasar Siti Khadijah (Siti Khadijah Market)

The Pasar Siti Khadijah is one of the most visited landmark of Kota Bharu. The central market of the capital of Kelantan, Pasar Siti Khadijah is located around the Kota Bharu tourist belt neighbouring the Masjid Muhamaddi (the state mosque) and Istana Balai Besar. Named after the first wife of Prophet Muhammad who was a trader herself, this market symbolises the entrepreneurial spirit of Kelantanese.

Laman Siti Khadijah is located outside the market. It was built to provide tourists and visitors with facilities such as tents for cultural performance, resting area and public toilet.

Wet food stuff such as meat, and vegetable could be obtained at the ground floor of the market. Most of the vendors are ladies.

The first floor houses stores selling local Kelantanese cuisines such as Sambal Daging (Beef Floss), Keropok (Fish Cracker) and Kelepek Sagu (Starch Biscuits).

Sambal Daging (Beef Floss)

Keropok Ikan (Fish Craker)

Kelepek Sagu (Starch Biscuits)

A part from food, bronze handicraft and cooking utensils could also be obtained at Pasar Siti Khadijah.

The second floor is where tourists and visitors could but Batik and other textile products such as scuffs.

JKR 10 - Official Residence of the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister)

JKR 10 is the official residence of the Menteri Besar or Chief Minister of Kelantan. Presently the position is held by Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat or Tok Guru as he is fondly referred to.

However the Menteri Besar prefer to live at his private residence in Pulau Melaka and JKR 10 is normally used for official gatherings.
